Echinocactus grusonii (golden barrel) is a very popular cactus - and rightly so. It looks good when small, but increases in appeal as it gets bigger as it turns into a spectacular specimen with golden spines. Easy to look after. We have several golden barrels outside on our patio at home between mid April and early September. This species is commonly grown by nurseries worldwide, but endangered in the wild because most of its habitat was destroyed by the creation of a dam. Sent in its 5.5cm or 6.5cm pot.
