Tylecodon paniculatus (butter bush or butter tree) is a spectacular caudex succulent. It has a "fat" stem, with yellow peeling bark, making it an excellent bonsai subject. Fleshy leaves, which fall off for the summer months. Needs good light and frost protection. Grown from seed collected at our own Komsberg Wilderness Nature Reserve, South Africa, our plants are already five years old, growing slowly in 9cm pots. Sent bare root.
