'Extra' is of S. calcareum origin. It certainly has the "X factor" and the RHS rightly gave it a prestigious Award of Garden Merit after the 2005-2008 trials. Also a deserved winner of Sempervivum of the Year 2010. Dark tips and many densely-packed leaves. One of the very best of the best.
