Sempervivum 'Rita Jane' was introduced in the USA by nurseryman Sandy MacPherson in 1971. The now-defunct Sempervivum Society awarded it a Bronze Rosette, perhaps slightly underestimating its beauty and appeal. This variety is still striking in its appearance today, almost 50 years on, and of a good size.
