'Teide' is named after the towering volcano on the island of Tenerife, Spain. This variety is extremely popular with sempervivum enthusiasts on mainland Europe - narrowly missing out (so far) on winning the prestigious Sempervivum of the Year award, including getting 2nd place in 2019 narrowly behind 'Devil's Touch'. Bred in 1978 by Martin Haberer - the brilliant German breeder who also gave us 'Bronco', 'Fuego', 'Irazu', 'Reinhard', and 'Sioux'. 'Teide' should be in every collection and we are pleased to introduce it to UK sempervivum lovers.
